Peer - Reviewers Process
Bhumiphala: Jurnal Pengembangan Daerah applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, objectivity, and integrity of the articles published. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening before being sent to reviewers. The review process is conducted by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise in accordance with the subject and scope of the manuscript.
The peer review process consists of the following stages:
- Initial Submission and Editorial Screening
All manuscripts submitted through the journal's online submission system are first checked by the editorial team to ensure compliance with the journal's focus and scope, author guidelines, manuscript structure, and basic academic and ethical requirements. - Plagiarism and Similarity Check
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are checked for plagiarism and excessive similarity using an appropriate similarity detection tool. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's originality requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected. - Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who have relevant academic expertise. Reviewers are selected based on their competence and the subject matter of the manuscript. - Double-Blind Review
The identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are likewise concealed from the authors. Reviewers assess the manuscript objectively and independently based on its originality, relevance, methodological rigor, clarity of analysis, quality of discussion, and contribution to regional development. - Reviewer Recommendations
Reviewers provide comments, suggestions, and recommendations regarding the manuscript. The possible recommendations include:- Accept Submission
- Revisions Required
- Resubmit for Review
- Reject Submission
- Author Revision
When revisions are required, authors are expected to respond to the reviewers' comments and revise the manuscript accordingly. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. - Editorial Decision
The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor based on the reviewers' recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the journal's editorial policies. The editorial decision is independent and does not automatically follow a single reviewer's recommendation. - Publication
Manuscripts that have successfully completed the review and revision process and have received an acceptance decision proceed to the editorial and production stages before publication.
The journal is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, confidential, and constructive peer review process. Reviewers are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and information obtained during the review process.
