Authors Guide
Bhumiphala: Jurnal Pengembangan Daerah welcomes original research articles, review articles, and scholarly studies that contribute to the understanding and advancement of regional development. Authors are expected to ensure that submitted manuscripts comply with the journal's focus and scope, academic standards, and publication ethics.
1. General Requirements
Authors should ensure that:
- The manuscript is an original work and has not been previously published.
- The manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to another journal.
- The topic of the manuscript is relevant to the Focus and Scope of Bhumiphala.
- All authors have made a substantial contribution to the manuscript and have approved the final version.
- The manuscript is written clearly, systematically, and based on appropriate academic references.
- All sources cited in the manuscript are properly acknowledged.
- The manuscript does not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or other forms of academic misconduct.
- Any research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or other subjects requiring ethical approval must comply with applicable ethical standards and regulations.
2. Types of Manuscripts
Bhumiphala accepts the following types of manuscripts:
Research Articles
Original research articles presenting empirical findings, methodological approaches, analysis, and discussion relevant to regional development.
Review Articles
Systematic, critical, or comprehensive reviews of existing literature that provide meaningful insights into a particular issue related to regional development.
Policy and Development Studies
Analytical studies addressing regional policies, development programs, public services, governance, innovation, and other strategic issues relevant to regional development.
3. Manuscript Structure
Authors should organize their manuscripts according to the following structure:
- Title
- Author Names and Affiliations
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods / Research Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments (if applicable)
- Funding Statement (if applicable)
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- References
The structure may be adjusted according to the type and characteristics of the manuscript, provided that the presentation remains clear and academically appropriate.
4. Title
The title should be concise, informative, specific, and accurately reflect the main subject of the manuscript. Authors should avoid unnecessary abbreviations and overly general expressions.
5. Abstract
The abstract should briefly describe the essential elements of the study, including:
- Background or research problem
- Objective
- Method
- Main findings
- Conclusion or implications
The abstract should be written clearly and concisely and should be understandable without referring to the main text.
6. Keywords
Authors should provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript. Keywords should be specific, relevant, and useful for indexing and information retrieval.
7. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should:
- Be numbered consecutively according to their appearance in the manuscript.
- Have clear and informative titles or captions.
- Be referred to appropriately in the main text.
- Be of sufficient quality and resolution.
- Include the source where applicable.
- Not duplicate information already presented in the text.
8. References and Citations
Authors must ensure that all references cited in the manuscript are included in the reference list and vice versa.
References should be relevant, reliable, and sufficiently up to date. Authors are encouraged to use primary sources, particularly peer-reviewed scientific articles and authoritative institutional publications.
The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is recommended to ensure consistency in citation and reference formatting.
9. Research Ethics
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research complies with applicable ethical standards. Where required, ethical approval, informed consent, research permits, or other relevant permissions must be obtained and appropriately stated in the manuscript.
10. Plagiarism and Similarity
All submitted manuscripts may undergo a plagiarism or similarity check. Authors must ensure that the manuscript is original and that all ideas, statements, data, images, and materials derived from other sources are properly cited.
Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.
11. Authorship
All individuals listed as authors must have made a substantial contribution to the research and manuscript. All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission for publication.
Any changes to the authorship after submission must be properly justified and approved by all authors concerned.
12. Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could potentially influence the research or its interpretation.
If no conflict of interest exists, authors should explicitly state this in the manuscript.
13. Funding
Authors should disclose all sources of financial or institutional support for the research. If the research received no specific funding, this should also be stated.
14. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted through the Bhumiphala: Jurnal Pengembangan Daerah online submission system. Authors are required to complete all submission metadata accurately, including:
- Manuscript title
- Author names
- Author affiliations
- Email addresses
- Abstract
- Keywords
- References
- Corresponding author information
Authors should ensure that the submitted manuscript follows the journal's formatting requirements before completing the submission.
15. Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo an editorial screening process before being sent to reviewers. Manuscripts that meet the journal's requirements will be reviewed by qualified reviewers through a double-blind peer review process.
Authors are expected to respond carefully and professionally to reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript within the timeframe specified by the editorial team.
16. Publication Ethics
By submitting a manuscript to Bhumiphala: Jurnal Pengembangan Daerah, authors agree to comply with the journal's Publication Ethics policy. Authors are responsible for ensuring the integrity, originality, and accuracy of their work and for avoiding plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of publication misconduct.
Author Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:
- The manuscript fits the journal's Focus and Scope.
- The manuscript is original and has not been submitted elsewhere.
- The manuscript follows the journal's required structure and formatting.
- The title, abstract, and keywords accurately represent the manuscript.
- All authors have approved the final manuscript.
- All sources are properly cited and listed in the references.
- Tables and figures are properly numbered and cited.
- The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism or excessive similarity.
- Funding information has been disclosed, where applicable.
- Any conflict of interest has been disclosed.
- Required ethical approval or research permits have been obtained, where applicable.
- The manuscript has been carefully proofread before submission.
